Progressive Magis Furniture brought to you by Herman Miller
Herman Miller is a name synonymous with quality, innovation and comfort. Across the Atlantic, Italian furniture designer Magis, meaning "more than" in Latin, has been carving their own identity out. Founded in 1976, Magis has bucked tradition from the outset, originally developing ladders to be sold in furniture stores (as opposed to the commonly accepted hardware stores of the time) and even releasing the Magis Dog House—drawing media attention but by their own admission, not much commercial success. This transparency of their thinking, successes and stumbling blocks has made the Magis story a captivating one. It’s no wonder that Magis and Herman Miller have paired together to bring widespread distribution to the brand. Both Herman Miller and Magis have a history of working with sustainable products, taking bold chances and partnering with designers (Stefano Giovannoni, Jasper Morrison, Konstantin Grcic and Design Group Italia, to name a few). Even if you’ve never heard of Magis, you almost certainly know the Bombo Stool. With an immediately recognizable design, the Bombo is oft imitated but never replicated, even gracing the sets of such productions as Star Trek and Lost in Space. Other exemplary Magis products include the Air Chair, XZ3 Table, and Lyra Stool…all amazing in their own right, and all available on OfficeDesigns.com.
