Eames Molded Fiberglass Armchair Rocker Base Features
Eames Molded Fiberglass Armchair Rocker Base has many features including:
Designed to be adaptable, the seat is available in multiple colors, the base frame is available with multiple finishes, and the solid maple rocker can be given a light or dark wood finish. Upholstery is also available for the seat.
Environmentally Conscious Construction
The fiberglass armchair was taken out of production in the 1980s due to environmental impact concerns. Thanks to advancements in sustainable construction a new process called “dry-binding” can recreate the original design in all its glory in a way that is less volatile.
Each Eames Molded Fiberglass Armchair Rocker Base is custom made, and the construction process ensures that no two chairs are truly identical. This has proven to be one of the chair’s biggest selling points, with collectors searching for years for pieces from the original 1950 collection with the small points of lighter or darker color in the shells or tiny cavities in the surface.
